Black Box of Indonesia's Crashed Plane Found

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Rescuers on Tuesday discovered the black box of the crashed plane at the accident site in Oksibil of Papua, Indonesia, an official said.

"At 13:40 p.m. local time, black box of Trigana Air's plane which had tragedy was discovered," J.A. Barata, spokesman of the transport ministry said by phone from Oksibil.

As many as 79 rescuers from search and rescue office, soldiers, police and volunteers have been on the crash scene, Deputy Operation of National Search and Rescue Office told a press conference.

The ATR-42 passenger plane, operated by Trignana Air, lost communication with the control tower at 14:55 local time Sunday and hit Mount Tangok in Bintang district of Papua, according to Barata, Xinhua reported.

The location of the accident is about 15 to 20 km from the airport at Oksibil, according to National Police chief General Badrodin Haiti.
