Iran Volleyball Team Reaches Japan after 30-Hour Flight

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team arrived in Hamamatsu, Japan, on Saturday after a 30-hour flight to take part at the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup.

Iran has been drawn in Pool B along with Olympic champion Russia, World Champion Poland, Argentina, Venezuela and Tunisia in Pool B.

The Iranian team will open the campaign on Tuesday with a match against Argentina.

The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup will be played from September 8 to 23 in Japan.

The tournament is a qualification process for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The top two teams will qualify for the Olympics and join Brazil as it has already secured a berth as the host country.
