Kyrgyzstan’s President Highlights Positive Outcomes of Iran Nuclear Deal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Kyrgyzstan’s President Almazbek Atambayev on Saturday underlined the positive effects of the conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers on stability of the region.

The issue was raised by Atambayev in a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is also the country’s chief nuclear negotiator.

He also felicitated Iran on the nuclear deal with Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany), and described the talks as “professional”.

Pointing to bilateral relations between Tehran and Kyrgyzstan, Atmabayev called “necessary” further expansion of economic ties, especially in transit and transportation sector, and said a 10-year cooperation plan should be devised for the issue.

Zarif, for his part, pointed to the process of termination of anti-Iran sanctions, and voiced Iranian companies’ preparedness for activity in the Central Asian state.

The two sides also called for 11th Iran-Kyrgyzstan Joint Economic Commission meeting by the next three months.

Earlier in the day, President Rouhani and his visiting Kyrgyzstani counterpart held a joint press conference, during which the Iranian chief executive emphasized the enhancement of intelligence, political and security cooperation between the two countries in the campaign against terrorism and extremism.
