Speaking to reporters on Tuesday on the sidelines of military parades in Tehran, held to commemorate the start of the Sacred Defense Week, Rear Admiral Sayyari pointed to the parades, saying, “What you saw in the parades today was only a part of our capabilities.”
He said in order to have powerful presence in the high seas, the navy has developed the production lines of its destroyers and combat vessels.
The commander added that Navy vessels like Sahand destroyer and Shiraz destroyer as well as a Sina-class guided-missile destroyer are under construction by domestic experts.
In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
