At the meeting held in Tehran, Zarif Lauded “firm relations” between Tehran and New Delhi, and said comprehensive ties, especially in economic field and pursing the proper progress of the joint projects should be prioritized.

He told Saurabh Kumar that Tehran attaches no limitations in expanding comprehensive relations with friendly countries.

Kumar, for his part, underlined India's interest in participation in various projects in Iran, including the development project of Iran southeastern port city of Chabahar as well as petrochemical and energy projects.

Earlier this month, India paid the second installment of $700 million to Iran to clear part of its outstanding oil dues to the Islamic Republic.

That was the second payment by Essar Oil, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals and other Indian refiners this year ahead of easing of Western sanctions against Tehran following the July 14 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
