IPC Athletics World Championships: Farajzadeh Seizes Gold


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Siamak Saleh Farajzadeh claimed a gold medal at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships on Monday.

Farajzadeh threw past the 11 metre mark in all six of his throws in the men’s shot put F34, breaking the previous world mark of 10.68m in superb style.

His best of 11.52m sealed gold while his teammate Mohsen Kaedi (11.12m) took silver and Colombia’s Mauricio Valencia took bronze (10.93m).

Iran’s Mohammad Khalvandi (javelin F57 ), Mohsen Hosseinipanah (put F35 ), and Peyman Nasiri Bazanjani (1,500m T20) claimed three gold medals so far  respectievly.

Sajad Mohammadian (shot put F42), Ali Mohammadyari (discus throw F56 ) and Saman Pakbaz (shot put F12) have won three silver medals and Mohsen Kaedi claimed a bronze medal in  javelin F34.
