French jets on Sunday launched their biggest raids in Syria to date, hitting ISIL strongholds in Raqqa, following the Friday terror attacks, Reuters reported on Monday.

ISIL terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombings and shootings.

"The raid ... including 10 fighter jets, was launched simultaneously from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Twenty bombs were dropped," French Defense Ministry said.

Among the targets were a munitions depot and training camp, it said.

There was no word on casualties or the damage inflicted.

Late on Friday, a string of coordinated attacks in and around the French capital left at least 132 people dead and some 200 others injured.

A state of emergency has been declared in the European country shaken by the horrific attacks.

The West and its regional allies have been blamed for supporting the militants operating inside Syria for more than four years.

According to the United Nations, more than 250,000 people have been killed and one million wounded in the conflicts in Syria.
