Zarif, Wang Yi Discuss Future of Tehran, Beijing Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi met in the Pakistani capital on Wednesday and discussed various issues, including strategic ties” between the two countries.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the ongoing Western Asia session of “Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process” conference, the two sides exchanged views about Tehran-Beijing mutual cooperation in diverse areas.

“We discussed mutual cooperation, a visit to Iran by the Chinese president, the future of strategic ties between Tehran and Beijing as well as part of the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) regarding the redesigning of Arak heavy water reactor…,” Zarif said after the meeting.
 
Zarif arrived in the Pakistani capital on Tuesday to participate in the Western Asia session of “Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process” conference.

Heart of Asia conference is part of the ‘Istanbul Process’, which provides a platform to discuss an agenda of regional cooperation with Afghanistan at its center.
