TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said Tehran and Moscow are planned to discuss extension of a line of credit on Monday.

Sanaie told reporters on Saturday that the Iranian Deputy Economy Minister is scheduled to visit Mosow on Monday, adding that the official will sit down with Russia’s Deputy Finance Minister Sergey Storchak to sign contracts aimed at extending the line of credit.

"A deputy economy minister (of Iran) will visit Russia on Monday, (he) will hold negotiations with the Russian Finance Ministry to sign contracts on credit line extension, which Russia opens for the joint projects," Sanaie said, Sputnik reported.

Last year in August, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari said Tehran plans to launch credit lines in Russia in a bid to boost its commercial cooperation with Moscow.

"At first, the main thing is to sort out the interaction of the banking systems and open credit lines. This would create the necessary basis for the development of trade-economic cooperation between our countries," Sattari said at the time.
