During a meeting in Tehran on Monday, Amir Abdollahian and Sidiki Kaloko exchanged views on regional issues, particularly the Syria crisis and the ongoing fight against terrorism in the Arab country.

Both sides also highlighted the importance of expanding ties and cooperation between Iran and African states in various fields, including health, technology, the youth, and anti-narcotics measures.

Leading a high-ranking delegation, Sidiki Kaloko arrived in Tehran on February 13 for talks with senior Iranian officials. He will leave Tehran on Tuesday.

The African Union is a union consisting of 54 African states. It was established on 26 May 2001 in Addis Ababa and launched on 9 July 2002 in South Africa to replace the Organization of African Unity.
