JCPOA Implementation Enters ‘Sustainable Phase’: Russia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russia’s Foreign Ministry said implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Tehran and world powers has entered a “sustainable” phase.

"In general, representatives of the six powers, Iran and the European Union noted with satisfaction that thanks to joint efforts, the JCPOA implementation has entered a sustainable phase," the Russian ministry said following the second session of a joint commission meeting after implementation of the JCPOA held in the Austrian city of Vienna on Tuesday, the Tass news agency reported.

Practical aspects for settling potential problems in the way of full realization of the deal were discussed at the meeting, according to the statement.

"The sides continued to discuss certain technical elements facilitating mutually acceptable solutions within the joint commission and the process of Iran’s return to the international financial and economic markets following the abandonment of the sanctions," it added.

The first post-JCPOA meeting of the joint commission was held on April 22.

All nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran were terminated after Tehran and six world powers reached the nuclear agreement on July 14, 2015 and started implementing it on January 16.
