Syrian Parliament Speaker to Visit Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of the People’s Council of Syria Hadiya Khalaf Abbas is scheduled to pay a visit to Iran in the near future, an Iranian official announced.
Director General of International Affairs at the Iranian Parliament Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Sunday that Ms. Abbas will travel to Tehran at the formal invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
Khalaf Abbas was elected as the Speaker of the People’s Council of Syria in June, becoming the first woman to hold the post.
She represents the country’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province.
