Kabaddi World Cup: Iran Beats Kenya

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated spirited Kenya 33-28 at the Kabaddi World Cup on Tuesday.

It is Iran's third consecutive win in the competition. Iran captain Meraj Sheykh missed the game due to illness and his absence was felt by his team.

Fazel Atrachali scored five points for Iran whereas David Mosambayi scored seven points for Kenya.

Iran hold on to the top in Group B with 15 points from three games and remain on course to seal a semi-final berth.

The third edition of the Kabaddi World Cup has brought two-time defending champion India, two-time finalist Iran, twice third-place finisher Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, England, Kenya, Poland, USA, Argentina and Australia together in Ahmadabad, India.

They are divided into two pools of six teams each, with the top two from each pool advancing to the semi-final.
