Persepolis Returns to Top of IPL Table
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis defeated Machine Sazi 1-0 here and moved back to the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Vahid Amiri scored for Persepolis with a header in the 22nd minutes.
Machine Sazi went down to 10 men in the 58th minute. The team’s Georgian defender Kakhaber Kakashvili was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.
Referee Mohammadreza Faghani awarded a penalty to the visiting team in the 70th minute, but Amin Ghaseminejad failed to score the penalty.
Persepolis returned to the top of the IPL with 26 points.
Earlier in the day, Tractor Sazi drew 1-1 with Padideh in Tabriz and moved down to second place, two points adrift of Persepolis.
In the otehr matches, Siahjamegan suffered a 1-0 home loss against Sanat Naft and Zob Ahan defeated Paykan 3-0.
