Three Iranian Swimmers to Partake in FINA World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will participate in the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) with three swimmers.

Sports

Arsham Mirzaei, Amirabbas Amrollahi and Arya Nasimi Shad will represent Iran in the prestigious event, which will be staged in Windsor, Canada on December 6-11, 2016.

The team will be headed by Khashayar Hazrati.

Almost 1,000 of the world’s best swimmers, from over 175 countries, are expected to attend for 6 days of intensive competition.

The global stars of the pool will compete for 46 gold medals.

The inaugural edition took place in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in December 1993. 313 swimmers from 43 countries participated, breaking 15 World Records and establishing the event’s paramount position in the sporting calendar.
