Tractor Sazi Beats Esteghlal to Go Provisionally Top in IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tractor Sazi of Tabriz defeated Esteghlal 2-1 here to move provisionally top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) thanks to a brace from Farzad Hatami on Friday.
Tractor Sazi goalkeeper Mohammadreza Akhbari made a blunder in the seventh minute and Kaveh Rezaei found the back of the net.
Hatami was on target with a header in the 56th minute and scored once again in the 68th minute.
Tractor Sazi went to top of the IPL table with 28 points, two points in front of Persepolis.
Earlier in the day, Padideh and Persepolis match was suspended due to heavy snow in Mashhad, northeastern of Iran. The match will be held on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Sepahan defeated Saba 4-1, Paykan edged past Siahjamegan 1-0 and Foolad defeated Esteghlal Khuzestan 1-0.
