Iranian Speaker Congratulates Counterparts on Holy Prophet’s Birth Anniversary

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani felicitated his counterparts from Muslim countries on the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and called for enhanced parliamentary cooperation among Islamic nations.

In a message on Thursday, Larijani congratulated the parliament speakers of Muslim states on the auspicious occasion and said at a time when the evil specter of hypocrisy and Takfir is inflicting deep and painful wounds upon the Islamic community, salvation can only be found by acting upon pure and sublime teachings of Islam, the Quran and the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

He further described constructive interaction among Muslim countries’ intellectuals, elites and parliaments as “necessary” and “inevitable”.

Larijani further underlined the necessity for closer parliamentary ties among all Muslim countries and voiced the Iranian parliament’s willingness to further expand cooperation and consultations with Islamic legislative bodies.

The 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal in the lunar Hijri calendar marks the birth anniversaries of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), the sixth Imam of Shiites. This year it falls on Saturday, December 17.
