Iran Raps Saudi Arabia for Treason against Muslims

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman hit back at Saudi Defense Minister Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud for his anti-Iran accusations, pointing the finger at the Riyadh regime for committing treason against the Muslim and the Arab world by colluding with Israel.

In comments on Saturday, Bahram Qassemi dismissed the allegations against Iran raised by the Saudi defense minister, who is also deputy crown prince on the kingdom, noting, “One of the players that must correct its behavior for the sake of world peace and calm is Saudi Arabia, which has created chaos in the region with organized support for Takfiri terrorist groups.”

Qassemi lashed out at Saudi Arabia for causing “bloody crimes” against people of Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and for working hand in glove with the Israeli regime, which accounts to treachery against the Muslims.

He made the comments in reaction to remarks by Bin Salman who accused Iran of creating instability, encouraging terrorism and violating the sovereignty of other nations in the region. The Saudi prince has also called on Iran to change its outlook and behavior.

The Iranian spokesman further described the Saudi minister’s comments as a tactic to whitewash the recent reports disclosing “significant and organized ties between the official Saudi institutions and radical Takfiris around the world.”

The Saudi politicians had better “correct their behavior and manner” instead of resorting to futile blame games and think about the consequences of their destructive policies, Qassemi added.

While the Middle East is beset with the threat of terrorism and violent extremism, experts believe that the notorious Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group has its roots in Wahhabism, an ideology originating from Saudi Arabia that developed in the 18th century.

In July 2013, the European Parliament identified Wahhabism as the main source of global terrorism.

Documents reveal that Daesh terrorists, who have invaded Syria and Iraq (two main allies of Iran), receive extensive financial and military support from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
