Iran Blind Football Team Moves Up Three Spots at IBSA Rankings
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) released an updated version of the blind football world rankings, with Rio 2016 gold medallist and world champion Brazil staying comfortably top.
Iran jumped from ninth to sixth following its historical silver-medal performance in Rio.
South American rival Argentina remains second thanks to the bronze medal it won in Rio after eight years without climbing onto the Paralympic podium.
China and Spain switched places, with the Asian team moving up one position to the third place.
European champion Turkey is fifth.
The top ten is completed by Morocco, Japan, Mexico and South Korea.
The rankings now feature 42 teams, with Laos being the latest team to join.
