Gas Tank Explodes at Thermal Power Plant in Russia, One Injured
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - At least one person has been injured in an explosion at a thermal power plant in central Russia, the Emergencies Ministry says. The blast caused metal structures to collapse over a 600-square-meter area.
According to preliminary reports, a gas mixture exploded at the power plant, RT reported.
The regional Emergencies Ministry has confirmed that an explosion took place at the power plant and said information regarding victims is still being checked. The ministry said one person has been confirmed injured, although earlier reports stated that one person had died.
The incident has not affected the city’s heating supply, the head of the ministry’s press service, Anna Shupilova, said.
Several rescue units have arrived at the site to remove debris and look for possible victims.
