Tractor Sazi, Share Points with Machine Sazi at IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tractor Sazi was held to a goalless draw against struggling Machine Sazi in Tabriz’s derby in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
In the match held in Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Imam Stadium, Tractor Sazi captain Mehdi Kiani was sent off in the in the 70th minute but the team could have scored 10 minutes later after the referee rewarded it a penalty kick but Mohammad Ebrahimi missed the chance.
Tractor Sazi remained three points adrift of IPL leader Persepolis.
Furthermore, Esteghlal defeated 10-man Paykan 3-2 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Omid Ebrahimi opened the scoring for Esteghlal in the 14th minute from a free kick two minutes after Paykan’s defender Siavash Yazdani was shown a straight red card.
Seven minutes later, Siamak Nemati equalized the match with a long-range shot.
Omid Nourafkan’s deflected shot made it 2-1 for the Blues in the 60th minute and Ali Ghorbani was on target in the 80th minute.
With three minutes remaining, Morteza Aghakhan pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.
On Saturday, Persepolis will face Saba, Zob Ahan play Gostaresh Foolad, Sepahan meet Sanat Naft, Naft Tehran host Esteghlal Khuzestan, Foolad play Siahjamegan and Padideh meet Saipa.
