Iran’s President May Visit Moscow in March: Russian Media

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is expected to travel to Moscow for an official visit in March, Russian media reported Tuesday.

President Rouhani may visit Russia in late March, a diplomatic source told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"Yes, the visit is being prepared. It may take place at the end of March," the source, preferring anonymity, added.

Later in the day, the Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the report about the Iranian president’s visit, saying, "Top-level contacts are being prepared. We will inform you about the dates.”

Russia and Iran hold regular and close consultation concerning the latest developments in the region, Syria in particular, toward coordinating their efforts in helping restore security to Western Asia and the Arab country.
