Ambassadorship in Iran An Advantage: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi underscored the high level of security in Iran, saying foreign ambassadors in Tehran have the privilege of monitoring the situation of a chaotic region from a “safe watchtower.”

In an address to a gathering of Asian and African envoys to Iran, held in Tehran on Saturday, Kharrazi said Iran, a democratic country with good security, provides a suitable safe place for foreign diplomats for monitoring the situation in a region beset with chaos and conflicts.

He also underlined that one of the pillars of Iran’s foreign policy is assisting regional nations, making a reference to the support Tehran has provided for the governments of Baghdad and Damascus at their requests.

Iran’s conduct is totally different from the policies of certain countries which have given birth to “armies of terrorists in the region”, Kharrazi pointed out.

While the Middle East has long been plagued with foreign-backed Takfiri terrorist groups, most notably Daesh (ISIL), Iran has enjoyed exemplary security.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
