Iranian Official Shrugs Off Daesh Threat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei scorned the “fugitive” members of Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group for releasing a video threatening Iran, saying any damage to Iran’s interests at home or abroad will trigger a calamity for the terrorists worse than their defeats in Mosul and Aleppo.

In a post in a social network on Thursday, Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei reminded the Daesh militants that they are fleeing from all battlefields.

Moreover, he added, if Daesh dares to take “the merest action in Iran or against our interests abroad”, they will be “chased and harshly punished” anywhere in the world.

Rezaei, a major general of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), noted that the catastrophe that Daesh will have to suffer in case of harming Iran will be much direr than the defeats the terrorists faced in Iraq’s Mosul and Syria’s Aleppo, noting that the militants were lucky to “escape the harshest punishment” in those two cities because of the presence of civilians and because they took the time to run away.

In a Persian-language propaganda video released on Monday, Daesh terrorist group threatened Iran.
