Ali Daei Named Iran's Saipa Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Just two days after leading Naft Tehran to Iran’s Hazfi Cup title, Ali Daei was appointed as Saipa football coach.

Daei stepped down from his role as coach of Naft Tehran because the team had big financial problems.

Daei, who replaced Hossein Faraki in Saipa, has penned a one-year contract with Tehran-based club.

The details of the contract have not been revealed.

Under leadership of Faraki, Saipa finished fourth from bottom in Iran Professional League (IPL).

Amir Ghalenoei, who parted company with Tractor Sazi on Friday, was a candidate to be appointed as Saipa coach.
