SHIRAZ (Tasnim) – Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami praised the military might of the IRGC Ground Force, saying the forces have made the country’s borders “immune” from infiltration of foreigners.
“Today, with the grace of God and thanks to the round-the-clock efforts made by the IRGC Ground Force’s officials and members, the force has become a strong pillar of the country’s national security in the face of foreign and domestic threats,” said Brigadier General Salami, addressing a Wednesday ceremony to inaugurate an IRGC’s airbase in the southern city of Shiraz in Fars Province.
“The IRGC Ground Force has made the borders immune from infiltration of foreign agents through building the essential and lasting infrastructure in which human will and technology have combined and masterpieces of military engineering have been showcased,” the commander said.
He further referred to hostile acts and plots hatched by the enemies, particularly the US, against Iran and said without the “dedicated efforts” to boost the country’s power, it would not be possible to stand against the enemies.
The current security, power, and dignity of the country indicate that there are some “devoted people” who do not care about themselves but care about progress and peace in the country, the commander said, referring to the IRGC forces.
Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.
In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.
“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
