Austrian MP Hails Investment Security in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Vice President of Austria’s National Council Karlheinz Kopf praised Iran as a safe place for investment.

In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Friday, Kopf highlighted the stable conditions in Iran, saying foreign investors can be assured of security in the Islamic Republic.

The two officials also weighed plans to broaden economic cooperation between Tehran and Vienna, particularly in small and medium industries, and to strengthen banking relations.

They further called for close coordination between the two countries in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Highlighting the position of the European Union in the international politics, Zarif also called for a more active role by the union in the regional and international developments.

The Austrian parliamentarian has traveled to Tehran to attend Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s inaugural ceremony.

President Rouhani will be sworn in at the parliament on Saturday evening.
