Iranian Plane Skids Off Runway at Mashhad Airport

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian passenger plane skidded off the runway after landing at an airport in the northeastern city of Mashhad on Tuesday, the deputy director of Khorasan Razavi Province’s Airports said.

There were 112 passengers and crew on board the Caspian Airlines plane that had left the southern city of Assaluyeh earlier in the day, Ali Hemmati told the Tasnim News Agency.

He added that the aircraft veered off the runway after two of its tires exploded while landing at the Shahid Hasheminejad International airport around 10:54 am (local time).

The Iranian official said all the passengers and crew were safe.
