In a meeting in Tehran on Monday, Zarif and Bajwa exchanged views on a range of issues, including ways to boost their cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, defense, border security and fighting against terrorism, extremism, and illicit drugs.

Referring to sectarian and ethnic rifts afflicting the Muslim world, the two sides also called on Muslims countries to remain vigilant, reinforce their unity, and thwart enemies’ plots.

The Iranian minister voiced Tehran’s readiness to export gas and electricity to Pakistan.

The Pakistani chief of army staff is in Tehran at the head of a delegation of high-ranking military officials. He also held talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri.
