Senior Muslim Cleric Urges Diversified Battle against Zionism

BEIRUT (Tasnim) – Palestine and its oppressed people will remain an unforgettable issue across the Muslim world, Head of the Union of Resistance Scholars Sheikh Maher Hamoud said, calling for plans to diversify resistance against the Zionist regime of Israel.

In an interview with Tasnim in Beirut, Sheikh Hamoud referred to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s message to the 2nd international conference of resistance scholars in the Lebanese capital, saying it demonstrates the importance of supporting the Palestinian nation.

As emphasized by Ayatollah Khamenei, the battle against Israel should be diversified, the cleric added, saying only Muslim unity would thwart divisive plots in the Islamic world.

In a message to the conference, Imam Khamenei underlined that the “heavy responsibility” to support Palestine lies with the entire Islamic world.

"Without a doubt, scholarly elites, clerics and politicians, as well as officials of Muslim countries carry the heavier part of this responsibility; this is a sacred and well-ending Resistance. The Divine promise guarantees definite victory of the resistance," the Leader said.

More than 200 scholars from over 80 countries took part in the event last week.
