“… the issue of terrorism (in the region) has not ended,” Larijani said in a meeting with the deputy head of the ‘Fair Russia’ faction in the Russia’s State Duma Mikhail Emelianov.

The remaining terrorists are seeking new adventures in the region, he said, adding, “Therefore, it is essential to boost security cooperation between the two countries.”

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), which kicked off on Monday in Istanbul, Turkey.

Larijani also underlined that “In Iran, all sectors are interested in cooperation with Russia.”

The Russian official, for his part, lauded the importance of cooperation between Iran and Russia in fighting terrorism.

Emelianov also called for the expansion of ties between Tehran and Moscow in all areas, including the economic and parliamentary fields.
