PFLP: Goals of Syria Strike Not Achieved

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A top official with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said the Saturday’s US-led missile strike on Syria has failed to achieve its purposes.

In an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV, Talal Naji, deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command (PFLP-GC), said the US-led plan to attack Syria had been arranged before the Syrian Army’s success to retake Eastern Ghouta region from terrorists.

The military offensive on Syria has not achieved any of its purposes, Naji added.

Slamming the allegations of use of chemical weapons by the Damascus government as a stupid show for justifying the aggression, the Palestinian official said the Syrian Army was closing in on Douma after liberating Eastern Ghouta and may have not used poison gas which firstly kills its own troops.

Naji further noted that the Zionist enemy, the Takfiri terrorist groups and the attackers of Syria are all in a same front.

In the early hours of Saturday, US, Britain and France launched a barrage of missile attacks against Syria in response to what they claim to be a chemical attack in Douma. Syria has rejected any role in the suspected gas attack.
