Iran Did Good Job against Puerto Rico: Igor Kolakovic

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national volleyball team head coach Igor Kolakovic says his team did a really good job against Puerto Rico.

The Iranian team outclassed Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-18) in Pool D of the 2018 FIVB Men’s World Championship in Varna, Bulgaria on Wednesday.

“It was a great beginning of the championship for us. We respected a lot our opponent Puerto Rico,” Kolakovic said in the post-match news conference.

“We did a really good job and I am very happy about the result as well as about the support we got from Iranian fans who came here especially for the tournament. I hope it will be the same in the upcoming matches,” he added.

Iran outside hitter Milad Ebadipour is also satisfied with their performance against Puerto Rico.

“It was a good game for both teams. We started very well and managed to keep playing in the same way till the end. For us it was very important to start with a victory. We knew that Puerto Rico is a good team but probably they were a little bit nervous because it was its opening match," Ebadipour said.
