Leaders of Korean Peninsula Sign Joint Statement in Pyongyang (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - North and South Korean leaders signed an agreement and joint statement following summit in Pyongyang on Wednesday

Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in on Wednesday signed a summit agreement following their second round of talks at the Paekhwawon State Guest House in Pyongyang, CGTN reported.

Footage shows the two leaders signing the agreement at the Paekhwawon State Guesthouse Korea in Pyongyang.

Moon's visit to the North marks the start of the third inter-Korean summit, held between September 18 and 20.

The denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula will likely be high on the agenda.

Earlier, a spokesperson for Seoul administration confirmed that DPRK and South Korea would sign a military agreement and a joint statement after the summit in Pyonyang.

There was no immediate elaboration on the content of the agreement.
