Cleric: Iran’s Strategy Preempts War
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian cleric said the Islamic Republic’s deterrent power blocks the ways for any military skirmish, including the US craving for war.
Addressing Friday prayer-goers in Tehran, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi Fard said the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strategy which is based upon defense power would prevent any military action by the enemies.
Iran’s defense power would deter the US from spreading war in the world, he noted.
“Today, the war machine of the US and Zionists is stuck in the mud, and the Islamic Ummah (community) is in the pinnacle of power,” Aboutorabi Fard added.
He further slammed the Saudi kingdom as one of the most hated regimes in the world, saying only the US is backing such a pariah.
In comments in 2017, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the US as the cause of instability in the Middle East, dismissing any chance of reconciliation with the US administration which has been “founded upon terrorism” and opposes the essence of the Islamic Republic.
The Leader has also taken a swipe at the US president for accusing Iran of sponsoring terrorism during a visit to Saudi Arabia, saying “it is absolutely ridiculous” that Americans raise the issue of human rights in a meeting with “Saudi medieval and tribal rulers” and accuse the Islamic Republic, the symbol of democracy, in a place totally unfamiliar with democracy.
Such anti-Iran human rights allegations by the US officials during a trip to Saudi Arabia will remain as a “historic shame” for the US forever, the Leader had announced.
