Iranian Lawmakers Wear IRGC Uniforms in Mockery of US Move

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian lawmakers were sporting Islamic Revolution Guards Corps uniforms at a Tuesday’s session of the parliament to express solidarity with the IRGC official military force which has been blacklisted by the US government.

Before the beginning of this morning’s session, a group of MPs wore the IRGC dark green fatigues to reaffirm support for the IRGC military forces -an official branch of the Iranian Armed Forces- and denounce the US’ labeling of the IRGC as a “terrorist group” .

They also chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” in the parliament.

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Washington is designating the IRGC a foreign “terrorist organization”, marking the first time the US has formally labelled another country's military a terrorist group.

Responding to the move, Iran's Supreme National Security Council immediately declared the US as a state sponsor of terrorism and US forces in the region terrorists.

The SNSC said it has put CENTCOM on its terror list as a “reciprocal measure” against the US “illegal and unwise” move.
