Military Intervention in Venezuela May Lead to Guerilla War: Brazil's President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A military intervention in Venezuela may lead to a guerilla war, Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro said on Monday.

"If we talk about a hypothetical possibility of a war in Venezuela, we need to remember about guerillas. This is relevant because of the territory's topography. It is hard to forecast how long it will take to resolve such situation," Bolsonaro told Jovem Pan Radio station, Tass reported.

He reminded that armed groups are operating in the border regions, along with terrorist groups and drug cartels.

Bolsonaro confirmed that Brazil does not intend to interfere into Venezuela's internal affairs.

Sanctions will help resolve the political crisis in Venezuela, the Brazilian president said. "An economic embargo may help oust the government."
