Esteghlal Moves Up to Third Place: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team jumped to third place in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.
The Blues defeated Nassaji 2-1 at the Shahid Vatani Stadium in Ghaemshahr, north of Iran.
Ali Karimi and Mehdi Ghaedi scored for Esteghlal in the 33rd and 49th minutes and Mohammad Abbaszadeh pulled a goal back in the 61st minute.
Esteghlal moved up to third place with 21 points, two points behind IPL leader Shahr Khodro who has one game in hand.
