Hundreds in Minneapolis Demand Justice for Black Woman Killed by Cops (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of protesters took to the Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis, US state of Minnesota, on Friday to demand for a black woman who had been killed by police.

The demonstrators demanded prosecution of the police officers responsible for the killing of Breonna Taylor, who had been mistakenly shot eight times during a police raid in her apartment in March.

Protesters were seen marching, chanting slogans demanding justice for the victims of police brutality and holding signs in support of Taylor such as "Say her name, Breonna Taylor," and "prosecute the police."

Taylor was killed in Louisville, Kentucky on March 13 after police officers entered her apartment serving a "no-knock warrant," suspecting her to be part of a drug ring.

The woman was eventually shot eight times as the officers exchanged gunshots with her boyfriend. No drugs were found in the apartment. Taylor's mother filed a lawsuit against the police officers for wrongful death.
