Azeri Defense Minister Condemns Assassination of Iranian Scientist
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Zakir Hassanov strongly condemned the assassination of prominent Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
The Azeri defense minister sent separate messages to his Iranian counterpart Brigadier General Amir Hatami and Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri on Wednesday to express condolences on the martyrdom of Fakhrizadeh.
General Hassanov strongly condemned the cowardly assassination of the Iranian scientist, who was the head of the Iranian Defense Ministry's Research and Innovation Organization.
Fakhrizadeh, a senior nuclear and defense scientist, was assassinated in a small city east of Tehran on November 27.
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani says it has become clear to Tehran that Munafeqin (Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization terrorists), the Zionist regime, and its spy service Mossad have been behind the assassination attack.
