Saman Pakbaz Wins Iran’s First Medal at World Para Athletics Grand Prix
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saman Pakbaz of Iran claimed a silver medal at the 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix on Wednesday.
He finished in second place in the Men's Shot Put - F12 with a 14.96 meters.
Uzbekistan’s thrower came first with 15.92 meters and the Belarusian Para athlete finished in third place with 13.22 meters.
Dubai is hosting the first of seven events planned for this season, all of which will act as qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
More than 600 Para athletes from 63 countries are confirmed for the four-day competition at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, part of the UAE’s Fazza International Athletics Championships.
