TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Former Iran national football team coach Carlos Queiroz has reportedly been linked with a move to Iraq.
Reports in Iraq say the Portuguese coach could take charge of the West Asian football team.
Queiroz has not coached any team since parting company with Colombia in December 2020.
Queiroz is the longest-serving coach in the history of the Iran national team, serving for almost eight years between 2011 and 2019. He led Team Melli in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
Iraq is one of Iran’s opponents in Group A of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.
