TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranians from all walks of life are marking the National Day of Fighting against Global Arrogance in countrywide rallies.

Society/Culture

People in the capital city of Tehran have held a rally that began from in front of former US embassy - known as the Den of Espionage - on Thursday (November 4, 2021).

Similar rallies were also held in other cities of Iran.

The main slogan of the countrywide ceremonies in "Steadfastness and national resistance of Iranian nation is key to the downfall of the US' arrogant hegemony."

Iranian officials, principals, and students took part in the ceremonies while adhering to the health protocols of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 1979 seizure of the US Embassy in Tehran is commemorated on Aban 13 based on Persian calendar, which falls on November 4.

In Iran, the day is known as Students’ Day, which also commemorates the National Day of Fighting against Global Arrogance.

The 13th of Aban has become a symbol of tremendous importance and significance. The incident evokes American greed, as American authorities believed they were free to plunder the wealth of other nations. The 13th of Aban harkens back to Iranian students' vigilance in the face of US threats.
