President Urges Support for Development of Iranian Vaccines

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called for stronger support for the scientists and experts engaged in the production of homegrown vaccines for the coronavirus.

In comments at a Saturday session of the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters, the president hailed the Iranian scientists and experts for their worthy efforts to make vaccines for COVID-19 inside the country.

Raisi stressed that the Iranian producers of vaccine must receive legal and financial support.

Calling for continued and strict compliance with the health protocols to prevent the spread of the pandemic in Iran, he emphasized that the reopening of educational centers and businesses must conform with the health regulations.

A reduction in the coronavirus death toll and new cases should by no means lead to laxity in the observance of the health protocols, the president noted.

More than 54.76 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine so far, while over 37.78 million have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
