Iran to Face Qatar in 2022 Asian Handball Championship Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will play powerhouse Qatar in the 2022 Asian Handball Championship semifinals on Saturday.
Iran lost to Bahrain 36-26 in Group II and advanced to semifinals as the runner-up.
Iran, on Monday, advanced to the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship as one of top five teams after defeating Kuwait.
Iran has previously participated in the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship in Qatar.
The competition was supposed to be held with 18 teams but Thailand and Japan withdrew from the event.
The 2022 Men's Handball Championship is being held in Dammam from January 18 to 31.
