Spokesman Highlights Iran’s Resolve to Safeguard Interests

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh reaffirmed the country’s unwavering resolve to defend its rights and interests as the Islamic Republic is celebrating the 43rd anniversary of victory of the 1979 Revolution.

“43yrs ago, the age long struggle of our nation for self-determination, & a free & independent Iran ended in victory,” Khatibzadeh said in a post on his Twitter account on Friday.

“Our nation has made many sacrifices to safeguard those values & principles,” he noted.

“Our resolve to stand & strive for Iran's rights & interests remains unwavering,” the spokesman underlined.

The Iranian people took to the streets on Friday to mark the 43rd anniversary of victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 41 years ago, on February 11, 1979, ending 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
