New figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that more than 147.76 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Sunday, with over 64.07 million people having received the first dose, more than 57.15 million fully vaccinated, and 25,533,574 adults having gotten the third dose.
While more than 50 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 7,191,600 following the detection of 2,894 new cases since Saturday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 384 patients have been admitted to the hospital.
At least 6,918,800 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 140,616, saying the disease has taken the lives of 39 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 1,558 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 498 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.2 million.
