Iran Dispatches Military Teams to Russia for Int’l Army Games


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Four military teams representing the Iranian Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Iranian Police have traveled to Russia to attend the International Army Games 2022.

The communication center of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said the four teams that have gone to Moscow for the International Army Games 2022 include navy commandos from the IRGC, a tank biathlon unit from the Army, guardians of order (competition among military police units) from the Iranian Police, and a team from the IRGC competing in the army of culture contest.

The International Army Games 2022 will be held from August 15 to 21 in Russia, as the main host, and other countries such as Iran, China, Belarus, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Venezuela, Algeria, Mongolia, and Vietnam.

Around 300 teams from 37 countries have confirmed their participation in a total of 36 competitions.

The International Army Games 2022 would be held simultaneously with the ARMY 2022 International Military and Technical Forum and the 10th Moscow International Security Conference, allowing the guests and participants to organize their work as efficiently as possible.

Teams from Niger and Rwanda are going to take part in the event for the first time, while Venezuela will become the first South American nation to host part of the games.
