Qatar’s Ties with Iran Strategic: PM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani hailed his country’s strategic relations with Iran, voicing Doha’s readiness to broaden ties with Tehran in all fields.

In a meeting with Iranian Vice President for Economic Affairs Mohsen Rezaei, held in Doha on Tuesday, the Qatari prime minister described the relations between the two nations as strategic.

He also called for the full implementation of the bilateral agreements signed by the Qatari emir and the Iranian president in various fields, including the economic and trade deals.

Pointing to the diverse grounds for cooperation between Qatar and Iran, Al Thani said his country is prepared to expand relations with Iran is all areas.

For his part, Rezaei highlighted the determination of the two countries’ officials to enhance the economic interaction, which he said would serve the interests of the two nations.

Lauding the brotherly and deep-rooted relations between the two Muslim states, Rezaei expressed Iran’s readiness to help Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022.

In a meeting with the Qatari emir, held in Tehran in May, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi described the capacities available in Tehran and Doha as a suitable ground for meeting the regional challenges.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has proved its friendship to friends and brothers in difficult times, including Qatar,” the president stated.
