Sohrab Moradi Misses 2022 World Weightlifting Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sohrab Moradi will be absent in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships due to a shoulder injury.
Moradi, who won Olympic gold at Rio 2016 in the 94kg weight class, also missed the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The 34-year-old weightlifter has won two gold medals in the 2017 and 2018 World Championships in Anaheim and Ashgabat, respectively.
The 2022 World Weightlifting Championships will be held in Bogotá, Colombia from December 5 to 16.
The event serves as a qualification event for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
